9th grade annual profile review

Annual Profile Review (APR) is an exclusive program feature that allows 9th grade students to get a glimpse of how an admissions committee would review their application materials.

  • Present an activities list, potential major(s), current and planned courses, honors, and any other application materials to the team to critique.
  • Demonstrate your writing skills through a sample of narrative writing pieces.
  • Receive feedback and critiques from a team of admissions professionals who will communicate areas to improve upon or where you can strategically pivot to better show your story. With the help of your coach, you’ll use the provided feedback to refine your profile and enhance your writing moving forward.

Our program is designed to help 9th graders build a strong foundation for their future college applications. We focus on guiding students in course selection, identifying their strengths, and exploring extracurricular activities that align with their interests and long-term goals. By starting early, students can make the most of their high school years and position themselves for success.

Through one-on-one advising sessions, students meet with their college admissions coach to receive individualized counseling following 9th grade program milestones. Students work together with their coach to brainstorm, curate, and form their application collateral. These one-on-one advising sessions occur through Zoom video conferences and are 60 minutes long.

Our college admissions counseling program encourages students to explore their unique interests and turn them into meaningful passion projects. Whether it’s launching a community initiative, developing a creative portfolio, or pursuing research in a subject they love, our coaches will provide step-by-step guidance. We help students identify their interests, brainstorm impactful ideas, and create a project plan. These projects showcase a student’s dedication and individuality, making them stand out in college applications while fostering personal growth.

Our college admissions team leverages over 90 years of collective admissions experience. Our team is made up of multi-degree academics, former university faculty, former admissions officers, Ivy League writing coaches, and graduates from the nation’s most selective schools.


Students are paired with a college admissions coach based on their availability, academic interests, and area of expertise.


All Prepory college admissions coaches undergo a comprehensive training course before working with their students. This course is designed by our team of former admissions officers from the University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, and Brown University.
